PT1 Chapter 3 & 4: RF Pulse Sequences | History and Basic Gradient Echo RF sequences.
After this basic introduction of GRE items and effects, you should be able to understand the acronyms/abbreviations associated to your MRI system(s); distinguish the acronyms/abbreviations associated to your MRI system(s) of the different RF pulse sequences and which ones are implemented on your MRI system(s); name the different Gradient RF sequences based acronyms of your MRI system(s); understand and describe the principle aspects of the Gradient Echo RF sequence.
In addition: you should be able to describe important effects and items in GRE RF sequences such as: the contrast generation and signal behaviour; Steady state; SSFP: steady state free precession; Spoiling; Coherent and incoherent GRE RF sequences; Re-winder gradients; Acquisition & Recovery.
